Worth Listening:
A two hour, somewhat fascinating, verbal battle. The “meta-interesting” thing in listening to this is that this conversation perhaps illustrates the dangers of being an intelligent, skilled orator: you enjoy the art of arguing more than trying to have a productive conversation. Both Harris and Peterson would probably vehemently deny that this is the case and they both loudly proclaim their interest in talking to someone with a different point of view during the podcast, but the reality sounded different, at least in this case. Both seemed to be uninterested in entertaining the possibility of a shift in perspective or in looking to combine their ideas into something different or new. Perhaps this podcast format or approach doesn’t work best for that.
